On 8th July 2005 I acquired an old Fruit Machine:

Bell Fruit Manufacturing Company Ltd Each Way Treble.

One of the date stamps inside says 2 Jan 1973.

The fruit machine is entirely electro-mechanical, no electronics (i.e. transistors or integrated circuits) at all, so it has Omron relays, timing motors and solenoids aplenty.

The machine seems to be fully working, using old 5p and 10p coins, although does seem reluctant to pay out!  Not a problem when you have access to the coin tray of course.  Someone has fiddled with the wires on the selector for the winning gamble mode so not all the bulbs light.  It needs to be cleaned from standing in a garage for some time and a few cosmetic scratches doing up.

Three things are WANTED:

To load/operate the machine - old original 5p and 10p pieces, you remember the ones, they were same shape/weight as the one shilling (5p) and two shilling (10p) coins, which the machine takes as well.

Any operator instructions, circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams or pointers to other people who might be interested or have info about the machine.

Anyone who remembers feeding this type of machine with 10ps back in the 1970s.  This particular machine is thought to have seen service in Dorking, Surrey, UK.

Oh a forth thing, some better webpages made about it rather than this basic one!

Here are some general pictures – of the outside and innards of the machine, showing the coin mechanisms relays, solenoids and timing motors.
